1. Challenge Financial Comfort Zones
From the start of my career, one of my most audacious goals has been to donate more money each year than the last. This year, I donated a total of $17,400 to various charities, each chosen for its significance to me and its impact on the community. Here’s a breakdown of my contributions:
Items 1 to 6 have IPC status, which means they qualify for tax deductions and government matching on donations. Meanwhile, items 7 to 10 are personal contributions to organisations and causes close to my heart.
The first four charities hold special significance as they have provided outstanding care for my grandmother in the last 5 years of her life. In particular, St. Luke's Hospital for the Elderly played a crucial role in nursing her back to health following an extended hospital stay. Their support not only helped her recovery but also offered me a chance to reconnect with my paternal family after years of misunderstandings and estrangement.
2. Challenge Spiritual Comfort Zones
Taking a career break has been a transformative experience, guiding me toward the discovery of my spiritual self through meditation and exploration of the inner child and shadow self. This journey of self-discovery has revealed that personal mastery requires attention to all areas of life, including the emotional aspects.
I’ve realised that many triggers I encounter are invitations to look inward and address unresolved issues or traumas. Embracing this challenge has been integral to my personal growth.
3. The Quest for Personal Mastery
As I move into the second half of this decade, I am committed to adopting new self-care habits that include regular physical exercise, healthy eating, and prioritizing my mental and emotional well-being. My aim is to become the kind of person I would love to spend time with.
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2024 in advance! Let’s continue to challenge ourselves and grow together.
